Meacham Economic Profile
Meacham's economy is primarily agriculture-based.
The arts sector has, over the past two decades, been established and represents a significant portion of the economy. As well, the local mine (potash) is 18 kilometres away and is an important part of the regional picture.
Saskatoon is a 40 minute drive, a reasonable daily commute for individuals employed in the city. Others, are home-based, or travel to different locations in the immediate area.
There are some potential and possible opportunities for economic diversification in the Meacham area, however, assistance would be required to explore and develop them. The quality of life and nature of the residents is such that alternative micro industry is a real possibility.
